Bridal Makeup

In Studio or On Location

Our wedding day services are available either in our studio or on location, be it a hotel, special venue, or in the comfort of your home.  We arrive fully equipped with director's chair, makeup kit, and supplies.  Everything is timed down to the minute so that you will be ready to say "I do".

Bridal Consultation

Consultations (trial run) are usually done within two months of the wedding date, in our studio, and last approximately 90 minutes.  You will receive a complete makeup application tailored to your specifications, as well as a skin care assessment.  Many brides choose to have the consultation the day portraits are being taken in advance.  Airbrush foundation, false eyelashes, and brow shaping are also available at extra charge.  "Before and After" pictures are taken for our files, and can be emailed to you.  We take thorough notes during the consultation so that the wedding day makeup application will go smoothly, quickly, and look just as perfect.

Booking

Please plan ahead to insure that your wedding date is available.  We typically book out a date 2 - 6 months in advance, although last minute bookings can sometimes be accommodated.  Special dates can book out as far as a year in advance.  We accept a $100 deposit and signed contract to reserve your wedding date.  The deposit is applied to your final bill, and is refundable until the consultation is done and our services are confirmed for the wedding day.

Bridal Party

Your wedding pictures will last a lifetime.  You will want your entire bridal party (mothers included) to have their makeup done professionally as well.  During the consultation we will review the wedding day timeline to accommodate everyone.  For parties of 6 or more, we will send two makeup artists at no extra charge.  

Makeup Tips

To prepare for your consultation, we suggest going through some bridal or fashion magazines for suggestions on the look you prefer.  Bring them along so that the artist will have an idea of what you want.  Our Portfolio page has several before and after pictures of brides we have worked with.  Our complete portfolio is available in our studio for your review.  We recommend purchasing your lipstick/lipgloss at the consultation, so you can make occasional touch-ups on your wedding day.

Skin Care Tips

The success of your makeup application will depend to a large degree on the condition of your skin.  We recommend coming in for a facial about one month prior to the wedding ($70).  If you do not have a skin care regimen already in place, we can assess the overall condition of your skin and suggest what products you should be using to improve it in anticipation of your wedding day.  Please refer to our Skincare Services Page for more information.

Makeup Fees for the Bride -  payable at the Consultation

Consultation -     $50

Wedding Day -   $75 in studio/$100 on location

Airbrush -           $25 extra per application **

Eyelashes -         $18 per application

Makeup Fees for Bridesmaids and others -  payable one week before the wedding

Per Person -              $40 in studio/$50 on location (there is a 2 person minimum for location work)

Gratuity

Standard 20% gratuity is added to the final bill so that tipping is not necessary on the wedding day.

Travel/Parking/Other Fees

There will be a rate increase for appointments and events scheduled on holidays, before or after our normal business hours, for hotel valet parking, and for events 25 miles or more outside of New Orleans.  There is a 5 person minimum for services scheduled on holdays or Sundays/Mondays.

** A Note about Airbrush Foundation:  Airbrush Foundation is the "newest trend" in makeup, and is designed to give a flawless look to skin when seen on high definition television.  It also improves the skin's appearance in photography.  The makeup is sprayed onto the face with an airgun and then dries to a water resistant finish that will last for hours.  However, it is important to know that even airbrush foundation does not work on all skin types.  It has been our experience that dry skin does not respond to airbrush because the foundation actually makes the skin even drier, and may even flake off.  Therefore, we make no guarantees on the success of airbrush application.  We can assess the condition of your skin, and try airbrush to see if it produces the desired results.  But if it does not, or we determine that your skin is not right for airbrush foundation, we will recommend the use of a liquid base foundation, such as Kevyn Aucoin's Liquid Airbrush, or Glominerals' Liquid Satin Base, both of which will give an airbrushed look.
